The fundamental web services platform is XML and HTTP. SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) is a communication protocol that enables communication between applications. It is also a format for messages to be sent and designed to exchange messages through Internet. SOAP is also platform and language independent. It is very basic and very expandable, it also allows you to get around firewalls. It will also be developed as a W3C basis, and is based on XML. SOAP was also created because HTTP is aided by all Internet browsers and servers. It supplies a means to communicate between applications running on unlike OS, along with different programming languages.
