The OGC Web Processing Service (WPS) is intended to normalize the way that GIS calculations are being presented in the Internet. It can identify any calculation or processes along with its inputs and outputs. It also activates its implementation as a Web Service. WPS aids continuous exposure of processes through GET, POST and SOAP. Thus, it allows customers to have an option to choose the best interface mechanism. The processes that the WPS implementation provides are dependent on the implementation owner. Even if it was made more functional with spatially-based data, it can also work for any kind of data.
